The Different Types of Dishdashas

This is a useful illustration done by Liz Ramon-Prado explaining the different types of Dishdasha, Thobe, Kandura  (Men’s Traditional Costume) worn by each of the GCC countries and how they have their Qetra, Shmaq (Head piece ) worn. Arabian men’s fashion at its finest. A great guide for the dishdasha-challenged gals like me.

Books: Miss Guided – How to step into the Lebanese glam lane

Welcome to the delicious divine and often bewildering world of Lebanese women , where primping is a 24-hour affair, partying a raison d’etre and designer bags reign supreme. For every person who ever wondered what makes these fabulous femmes tick, or how they too can become part of this elite clique, Miss Guided reveals all you need to know!

If you’re looking for a book that’s light, fun and has plenty of funny sarcasm then this book is right for you. It’s one of those books that you carry around to read on the beach, on the plane or in the waiting room. Annisa Raffeh (the author) also a blogger talks about all aspects of life as a Lebanese woman living in the glam lane. She tackles issues of everyday life such as pinning a man down, getting married, landing a job, “enhancing”  your physical appearance and dealing with crazy family members.  The book has 14 chapters each chapter is more captivating than the other. You don’t want to put this book down until you have read it all. It’s a book about women meant for women.

MissGuided can be found at Virgin Bookstores in Beirut, Cream boutique and on Amazon

They fill up your vase and stand out on their own but we all face the problem of maintaining their freshness. Alas, I found this video from Hotel Chatter on how to keep your Hydrangeas looking fresh and lively. A water spray and a paper towel is all you need.

Spoil Your Kids!

One of my favorite pastime activities is going through children’s furniture or toys catalog. This time around I was flipping through the Pottery Barn Kids catalogue, and I could not help but notice the adorable furniture pieces they had.If you’re looking to furnish your little angels rooms then these pieces would be great for the playroom and Outdoor area (Chalet or Pool). So why not spoil your kids and makeover their play rooms and redo the outdoor area. I think it’s a blessing that I don’t have kids yet or else I would have bought the whole catalogue and gone broke!

Some of my favorite picks!
